The endurance is up to 18,000 nautical miles; it is reinforced with B3 level ice and has DP2 level dynamic positioning capabilities. It can safely navigate in level 9 sea conditions, drift measurements in level 5 sea conditions, and travel survey operations in level 4 sea conditions.

The ship carries a variety of measuring equipment such as a single-beam echosounder, a shallow-water multi-beam echosounder, a medium-shallow water multi-beam echosounder, a deep-water multi-beam echosounder, and a flow velocity and direction meter. , the deepest depth can be reached to 7,000 meters through steel cables. In the past, after measurements were taken on board, the relevant data had to be sent to the shore for processing. However, in addition to the surveying and mapping studio, the "Haixun 08" ship is also equipped with a data processing center and chart production functions, which can realize the entire process from measurement to mapping on one ship.
