World Standards Day is the anniversary of the founding of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). October 14th was selected as World Standards Day. The purpose of World Standards Day is to raise awareness of the importance of international standardization in world economic activities and to promote international standardization work to meet the needs of business, industry, government and consumers worldwide.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC189) is currently one of the technical committees owned by ISO, the most authoritative international standardization organization in the world.
