Introduction to the work:
CompleteTime (2018-2019)
Project name: 1921 Pier Hot Pot
Design type: Catering Design area: 150㎡
Design concept and design features:
Taking the old street culture of Chongqing as the main line, it is extracted from the old shops in the Republic of China period, and restores the street scene of an era both outdoors and indoors.
1921 Wharf Hotpot is a well-known traditional Laozao hotpot chain enterprise in Chongqing. This project is located in Luneng Xingcheng Hotpot Street, Jiangbei District, Chongqing. It is surrounded by hotpot shops and has the same design style as other hotpot restaurants on the market. Most of them are still traditional and ancient Chinese classical architectural styles. How can they stand out in this environment? After communicating with the client, the designer believed that it was not advisable to copy the ancient architectural style, and that efforts should be made to the origin of hot pot. The design is based on the local old streets of Chongqing.
The designer learned from the preliminary survey that the store area is about 150 square meters and the bay is relatively wide. Through planning and circulation analysis, the kitchen is set up at the left rear of the store, and the opening on the left side of the kitchen wall serves as a staff There is a passage in and out of the kitchen, with a window in the middle of the front serving as a hotpot serving area. The back right of the store is the cashier service area. The bathroom and wash area are considered between the kitchen and the cashier area. Use most of the front space as a business area. There are 11 hot pot tables in the indoor part of the business area. The door of the store is designed on the right side of the entire store, with windows on both sides of the door. After entering the gate, leave a wide passage, and the hot pot tables are on both sides of the passage. The view is very clear and wide. The store is virtually expanded, allowing diners to feel that the store is spacious and bright when they enter. In order to take care of the comfort of diners, the designer opened the bathroom door to the side and added a wall with Chinese elements as a visual shield. Because the bathroom has three compartments, the wall is recessed 0.8 meters compared to the kitchen. Add a table to this recessed area to serve as a seasoning area and a dish collection area. Functions will be further segmented.
From the outside, the store is a very wide strip. The designer made a display window on the left, which is divided into nine grids. The outside of each grid is bulletproof glass, and the back is transparent. The grids are placed The simple earth stove hot pot decoration shows the ancient history of hot pot. Because the decorations can be replaced, decorations from the Republic of China can also be placed as embellishments to enhance the fun. From the street outside, you can also see the lights and diners inside through the glass, which also enhances the promotion. Further to the right of the exterior wall is a row of windows. The designer specifically studied historical documents and photos to restore the style of the doors and windows to the 1920s and 1930s.During the color grading process, I made many color swatches to achieve the desired antique color. The most interesting thing is that there are bearings in the middle of each window. The windows can rotate 360 degrees and can be fully opened. Especially in spring and autumn, when the air conditioning is not turned on, the entire store can be naturally ventilated. Above the window, the designer designed wooden shutters that can move left and right. Can adjust indoor air and light. Above the door, the designer combined elements of the origin and development of hot pot and made an entire sandstone sculpture to tell the history of hot pot. It is also a good signboard. It can be seen from a distance. At the same time, the original pillars were combined with blue bricks and large bluestones. There is also a signboard with the name of the store on the side of the pillar. No matter which direction you look at, the store sign can be seen intuitively. The indoor bar counter, dressing table, and wine cabinet are all made of old wooden boards. Reflects the accumulation of history. Because there are many pipelines, flues and fire pipes on the top surface, the designer sprayed the top surface gray and used old wooden boards to make false beams. Above the gate, the designer intentionally made a sloped roof and made blue tiles to enhance the artistry. The designer also introduced the exterior streetscape indoors to simulate the old streets of the 1920s and 1930s. The interior walls are pasted with imitation blue brick veneer bricks, which are not only stain-resistant but also express a sense of folk customs. The blank wall is a Chongqing folk culture old street scene that the designer asked a painter friend from the Academy of Fine Arts to help draw directly on the wall. From indoors, you can see houses scattered on the walls, some real and some virtual, and you can also see the shadows of old telephone poles. On the walls of the kitchen and hall, the designer also created balconies that simulated the old street scene. Restore the old street scene. For the soft furnishings, period-inspired lamps, wooden ceiling fans, and propaganda posters with the colors of the Republic of China were chosen to bring diners into the era of 1921.
