The project invested in advanced rock-socketed drilling rig equipment and auxiliary facilities, forming the first domestic engineering case of basic rock-socketed three-pile jacket and rock-socketed submarine cable, providing reliable reference for domestic offshore wind power construction in similar rock-socketed terrain.
The wind turbine unit of this project has the largest impeller diameter in its class. A single blade is 111.5 meters long and weighs 42 tons. The impeller sweep area is 40,627 square meters; the height of the hub center from the sea surface is 133.4 meters. It is equivalent to a height of 45 stories. The unit uses glass fiber epoxy resin composite blades, which have the characteristics of large size, lightweight, strong wind catching ability, good aerodynamic performance and high power generation efficiency. It can effectively cope with the complex offshore environment and is more suitable for the characteristics of wind energy resources in the Beibu Gulf. Under rated operating conditions, the blade tip speed is 95.3 meters/second. A single fan rotates once to generate 17.0 watt-hours, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of a family of three for nearly 4 days; a single fan can generate 25 million kilowatt-hours per year. Clean electricity can meet the annual electricity needs of 15,000 households. After the project is fully completed, the annual grid-connected electricity will be approximately 2.06 billion kilowatt-hours, which can meet the basic electricity needs of 2 million households. It can save 620,000 tons of standard coal consumption and reduce 1.64 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year.
